The only politician mentioned during the show was Ronald Reagan and that was
one of the first things out of Koppel's mouth. If he wants to blame a
Republican, how about John McCain? He was the guy chairing the committee
that wrote the 1996 Act. But, of course, blaming McCain would go against
the media myth of McCain as the guy that stands up to special interests.
It's a lot easier to point the finger at Reagan.
