I can't believe I misspelled Prokofiev's name...I've been
a fan of his music even in the face of critical scorn.
His reputation is on the upswing because at least one of
his operas, "War and Peace", is finally entering the 
international repertory.  It's a rule of thumb that if
just one full-length opera makes that list, you're
a MAJOR composer.  (Mascagni and Leoncavallo, who wrote
very popular 1-act operas are also-rans.)  I do in
fact prufereed my posts, but stuff occasionally gets through.  I was a champion speller in grade school, but
that was before the computer age!
