Urban Legend In The Making?

There was an interesting correction in today's (04/08) print
edition of the Wall Street Journal.  Last Friday, a columnist
named Daniel Henninger made a reference to an incident that
was purportedly broadcast on CNN.  Nay nay...read on:

   "The incident involving CNN's Martin Savidge 
   and Marines phoning home from Iraq, described 
   in Daniel Henninger's 'Wonder Land' column on
   this past Friday, is apocryphal.  No such 
   incident ever occurred or appeared on TV, 
   according to officials at CNN.  The false
   tale has been circulating widely on the Web.
   We regret the error."

Have any of you heard this legend on talk shows or have you brought
it up yourself?
