Yes, the RDS data is encoded in the signal.
The really cool thing - and this only works on Greater Media music stations (Magic, WROR, WKLB and WBOS) - when you hit the info button you get the title, artist and year of the song that's playing. what's more, when you're near the end of the song, or during a stopset, the info button will give you the name of the artist who is coming up next! How does that happen, you ask??
