Yesterday morning a few hundred people got arrested after lying down on 
5th Avenue in front of Rockefeller Center here in New York City.

There was no mention in the media of a riot or "civil unrest."  So then
yes they were arrested for protesting peacefully, even though they were
blocking traffic....

No, they're being prosecuted for practising "civil disobedience."
