The Maine media has adjusted. The war was the only story over the weekend,
in part because one of the first people killed was from Maine. Yesterday
and today, the local news on radio and TV have gotten back to normal.
There's still a lot of Iraq coverage, but they are covering other local
stories as well. There was a spectacular accident with a sludge truck on
the Maine Turnpike today and the bodies of two homeless people were found in
the woods in South Portland so there were two good local stories today.

Speaking of local news: I noticed Dan Cole has been missing from WGAN this
week. When I heard him at the end of last week, he sounded like he was
about to lose his voice. There's nothing worse than trying to do your job
when the tool of your trade is failing you. If you're out there Dan, I hope
you are on the mend.
