Re: Hubcap Network

Well, now that you've listed the stations, I was under the impression that
it was KLVZ that picked up the Legends programming that KLZ dropped. Even
with a directional pattern that favored the north (and I kind of doubt that
the 1530 station in Colorado Springs has such), 15 kW on 1530 is unlikely to
be listened to in Denver by anyone except radio geeks. The Springs is about
80 miles south of Denver and although the soil conductivity east of the
Rockies isn't bad, it just isn't good enough to turn a 1530 station in the
Springs into a Denver station. There's also a 1510 in a Denver suburb.
(Englewood?) There used to be a station in Cheyenne on 1530 with three
directional patterns, 10 kW-D, something like 500W-N, and something in
between during CH. I assume that the Cheyenne station went dark and that's
how come there's now a 1530 station in the Springs.

Before sending the message, I checked on KCMN. It's ND-U with 15 kW-D/1
kW-CH/14W-N. Oh yeah, that night signal just TEARS UP the Denver market ;>)
