Chicks singer apologizes to President

Faced with outraged fans, radio station boycotts,
and the loss of a 17,000 seat arena (in NC) from
their tour, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines
has apologized to Pres. Bush.

"As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to
President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I
feel that whoever holds that office should be treated
with the utmost respect."

No word yet as to whether or not the top country
station in her hometown of Lubbock, TX is going on
with their "Chicks-free weekend"...Again, she has the
right to say what she wants but entertainers are
learning that alienating their fans by such
statements can hurt them financially.

Perhaps by the time their tour takes them to
Houston, Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio, their
fans won't boo them (for Maines' statement that
"we're ashamed that President Bush comes from
our home state of Texas").
