Non-broadcast answer....a woman I met following in 1988 Olympics was a
disabled skiier who competed against able-bodied skiiers.  She went on to
win an Olympic Gold in Disabled Skiing at the 88 Games and 10 world
championship golds before she retired.  Her name was Diana Golden,  she
died a couple of years ago from cancer.
