When I produced the morning show on WGAN, the Portland Press Herald would
occasionally mention how a local issue was a big topic on the local morning
talk show, but they almost never mentioned the station's call letters or the
name of the show. As a result, Jim Crocker would not allow any mention of
the Press Herald on the air. He would refer to "the local daily newspaper"
or the ldn for short. I think he still does it, more than a decade later.
