I suspect that the major networks made the right call not to cutaway to
the event (at least our locals didn't).

CNN and FOX went to a split screen when the M.D.s were facing the press
on the RI story, with the burning barge on the other half of the screen.
MSNBC has stayed with WNBC-TV, for the most part.
