Stations will continue to broadcast in analog as well as digital for the 
forseeable future (presuming digital radio ever takes off).  The digital 
signal will essentially be piggybacked onto the existing signal.  Oink 
oink.  Indeed, in fringe reception areas radios will switch back to the 
analog feed, much as stereo receivers switch to mono when the signal gets noisy.
