Fwd: Re: WCAP web site??

Whe I worked at Wang Laboratories, they discontinued
a minicomputer called the Model 2200, briefly calling it the
'CS' to make it a cousin to the flagship 'VS'.
Shortly afterward, Unisys came out with a 2200 computer.
The Doctor was deceased by then and Fred never sued.
(Their in-house magazine was called "The Source"; a
rap and hip-hop magazine by that title appeared at about the
same time. The Company didn't sue them either, and
declared themselves "flattered", Now WCCM 1490 calls
itself "The Source".
(Beating them all, the fine French composer Leo Delibes
wrote a ballet called "La Source" a hundred years ago).

Since the same trademark can be held by different people in different
markets, all of these may be legitimate. For example, there was once a
Galaxy science fiction magazine, Galaxy cigarettes, and a Ford Galaxie.
None infringed the other because they were different products with
different markets.

And, at a science fiction convention in the mid-1960s, the editor of
Galaxy magazine lit a cigarette. Noticing the brand, I asked why he
wasn't smoking Galaxy cigarettes. He replied that he tried them, but he
didn't like them.
