No, but at about the same time that they added
football, WBCN also added Stern and other shows that
don't play music. WBLM is a music station.
I know that years ago, lots of stations had mixed
formats of music, sports and talk. These days, most
people tune into a station and expect the regular
format. They tune to one station for news, another
sports, and others for music.
In the case of WBLM, no one else does what they do so
it probably won't effect them. And football fits
their key demographic. It probably makes sense but I
wonder when stations (or any business for that matter)
mess with a formula that has been successful.
