Providing education is called for in nearly every
state constitution.  I've never seen radio and TV
mentioned.

At least in the case of schools, there are local
people who are elected that you can complain to if you
don't like the content of the curriculumn.  Except in
Boston, of course.  But in America, representative
democracy still exists.
