A number of years ago I operated a small news business that provided
Massachusetts stories to ABC via Reuters and States News Service. I
subscribed to a number of newspapers at home in addition to my local rag.
My wife was shocked at how slanted the different paper's coverage was of
the same event, so I would put forward that the papers present the basic
facts, but then edit those facts in such a way as to put the positive
spin on what they want to achieve.
