I am suprised the simulacast hasn;t hurt their ratings
too....from my stndpoint, I don't see why people in Bangor
really even care about what is going on south of Augusta, the
only reason I do is because I am one of the few that actually
relocatred up here from down in Saco where I grew up. Most people don't
relocate north like that, if anything, people from up here would move down
into the Portland area. I like Doug Rafferty myself and in my mind, he's
one of the best newscasters in the state, or anchor people rather. The
channel 6 news team is very good too, although like you saty, I fail to
understand hoiw nayone that gets chennl 6 would even care about a car
accident in Bangor. Peronaklly, I am not a fan of either Ric Tyler or
Steve MacKay, who do the WLBZ forcasts up here. MacKay also does all the
weather forcasts for all of Clear CXHannel's stations up here....if not
all then most of them. THe one thing I will say I like about the
newscasts, on Channel 2, is that when I came up here it was good to see
newscasters that I knew. I barely watch the actual channel 2 newscasts,
I'm not even sure if they have their own sportscaster up here or not, I
know Dale Duff was the WLBZ sports guy until he went over to do radio at
WZON, Dan Hannigan did the same thing, moving from the head sports guy at
WVII to going over to WZON.....but I barely watch Channel 2 news when the
Bangor people are on, I do like CHannel 6's news team though. I usually
find myself watching Channel 13 more often when I am in Saco though.....oh
well....
