I did not intend to suggest that it was a beginners
market as far as full-time, on-air jobs.  My
suggestion was for someone willing to work part-time
and do anything to get on the air.

Actually even a part time gig in Portland was out of reach back in those days for anyone with less than 2 or 3 years behind the mic.
