Since I practice by myself, the issue hasn't arisen so far. The rules of
conduct for lawyers in Massachusetts now require that a lawyer report
another lawyer for ethical violations which reflect adversely on the
other lawyers fitness to practice. So I would be obligated to report a
serious lapse that came to my attention or risk being in trouble myself.
