Scott Studios is actually the only automation system I ahve ever used. I
learned to use the 2000 Windows version at my college station, WHSN, which
as I understand, was the first station in Maine to use the new version.
Then when I was employed at Cumulus' WBZN we were using the 1995 (?)
version....which was very similar, yet didn;t have as many features, but
still seemed to be a very stable program. When I left there and went to
WKIT, they were using the same 1995 (?) DOS version, and a couple months
ago upgraded to the newer version, which I beleive is the same version
WHSN is running (SS32... Andy Soule will correct me if I am wrong).... And
it is an EXCELLNT system. granted WKIT is never automated more then 10-15
minutes at a time, but it is an excellent system. Across the hall at WDME
they have had no problem training people that have never used computers
before how to use the system......basically for teching Sox games from the
WEEI sattellite.....But if I got rich and owned a radio station (heh as
if) I would definately use Scott.....without a doubt. I've seen some other
systems at other stations in the market and they don't seem nearly as
powerful.
