But what about the millions of kids and parents who have a less happy 
childhood because they are unnecessarily frightened by the "news?"  You 
hear parents all the time say "these days, you can't let your kids do 
anything because it's just not safe."  The truth is, it's just about as 
safe as it was for us when we were growing up.  So a whole generation 
grows up afraid to go outside, when there's absolutely no need of it.
