Gosh, I hadn't thought about it.  I thought most people bought a 
component stereo system and only suckers bought those combination 
systems.  I can understand why someone would buy a receiver (combination 
amplifier and tuner) but are you saying that people buy a combination 
receiver-and-CD-player, for example?  How stupid!  If the CD player 
breaks you dump the whole thing?  Usually the quality of the components 
is so mismatched in those things that you might get a good amp but lousy 
tuner and mediocre CD player.  I would think you'd get a better value if 
you bought separate components.

I figured especially today, with so many home theaters and surround 
sound and wide-screen TVs that people do care about such things.  But 
what do I know?
