For the average business, a bare minimum charge for a service by an
employee is usually twice whatever you're paying that employee. That
covers costs just associated with having the employee in your service,
although with their actual salary. If you have a full time employee, I
believe it goes up to 2.5 to 3 times what you're paying that employee.
It's bloody hell expensive to run a business. Ask an AM transmitter
manufacturer what their monthly electric bill is after running all the
tests on a 50kW transmitter line.
That said, I think $13/hr is a shamefully low wage to be paying your staff
for that kind of work.
