Yea it's sad what's happened to TV-38. IHMO Channel 38 is another victim of
the
1996 Communication Act.

I remember the good old days of Channel 38. Of Ask The Manager, 'Sox,
Bruins,
reruns of 60s sitcoms.

I'll always fondly remember that back in the mid 1980s that Channel 38
helped me get through my graduate school dissertation. Such where the time
demands of my project (involving data comm. and networking on the original
model 8088 based IBM PC) that I had not much time to do much of anything
else if I wanted to get the dissertation finished by the mid - August
deadline.

However I did find time for 1 hour of TV viewing per day. (1/2 hour at
night, and 1/2 hour in the morning). So while doing my dissertation, just
before going to sleep for the night I would watch the nightly re-run of
Hogan's Heroes [Hogan's was one of my favorite shows of the 60s I'll have
to admit, even though it's not P.C. to say so these days] on TV-38. And then
first thing in the morning, since the 5" screen TV on my nightstand was
still tuned to Channel 38, I would view a re-run of Flipper (The Dolphin). I
found I was a lot less productive if I didn't have my nightly fix of
Hogan's, and then my AM 'Flipper Fix'
