OK, so someone who heard the bit thinks it's funny, and someone who
did not hear the bit thinks it can't possibly be funny. It sounds to
me, from Chuck's description, that the bit was really a spoof on the
media's and the general public's reaction to abduction stories.

In this light, it was interesting to hear the piece on "On The Media"
this week about how the actual number of stranger abductions in this
country is only about 100 a year, but our beloved media would have us
believe that there's one happening every few minutes.
