That sounds like a very plausible caption for a CKLW 800 20/20 News story
from that time era to me.

I always heard the  story of the news broadcast from CKLW that started
"The streets of Detroit ran red with blood last night"  to discribe a
stabbing.  I don't know if it actually happened or if it is an urban
legend.
