Paul Harvey mentioned Howard K. Smith's death in passing during his noontime
broadcast yesterday.  Both ABC and CBS devoted significant airtime to his
life and career on their respective evening newscasts.  And of course, Dan
Rather choked up.  IIRC Brokaw said nothing - most of NBC Nightly News has
been "up close and personal" Olympics crap lately.
