The revolving door continues to spin: WLBZ-TV Anchor Donna Gormley has
resigned to go to work for John Baldacci's gubernatorial campaign.

In 1994, I managed the campaign of Rick Bennett, who was the Republican
nominee against Baldacci for the open second district congressional seat
(Baldacci won 45%-40% in a four way race). The reporter for the Bangor Daily
News who covered the race was, IMHO, very biased in favor of Baldacci. Right
after the campaign, he went to work on Baldacci's congressional staff. At
least Gormley is going through the revolving door BEFORE the election.

Of course, Gormely's career change is not unusual. Former WGME and WABI
anchor Felicia Knight has been on the staff of Republican Senator Susan
Collins for the last few years. Former WGME reporter Bill Johnston worked
for both Republican Senator Bill Cohen and Democrat Congressman Tom Allen.
And our Governor, Angus King, became well known in the state as the longtime
host of MaineWatch on public television.
