Ah, but the FCC does consider the location of the post office to be a
valid reference point for a station to determine the "center of its
community of license".

73.1125 is the section on main studio location, which in turn refers to
73.208 to define where the aforementioned center is located.

Also, 73.1120 states that a stations are licensed to "the principal
community or other political subdivision" which they serve.  A post
office could very well be seen as a "political subdivision" of sorts,
in the sense that the government defines where the post offices go
and what areas they serve...
