Channel 7 Reporter Garry Armstrong Fired

   Today's Boston Herald reports that WHDH- TV reporter Garry Armstrong was
fired Wednesday. Armstrong had been with Channel 7 for 31 years. A station
spokesperson told the Herald that Armstrong did not fit in with the plans
the news director has for Channel 7's news operations.

   With Armstrong's departure from 7 Bullfinch Place, I believe the title of
longest employed at Channel 7 now goes to meterologist Harvey Leonard, who
has been there since the mid or late 70's ( he was there for the Blizzard of
'78).
