Generally, no.  But survival statutes allow some actions to survive the
death of the injured party.  Family members can also sue for damages they
have sustained for the wrongful death of a family member under state
wrongful death statutes.  The specifics vary from state to state.

I pulled out my Torts book and it says that a dead person may not be defamed
and therefore their estate nor survivors may sue.
