12:20 pm Thu: 2 more firefighters found alive, okay

CBS/Rather scooped the fact that two more firefighters were just
found alive and okay.  I believe they were ambulatory. Now, it's
12:33 and NOT ONE other news source is reporting that.  In fact, ABC
just rehashed the downtrodden there and that "no survivors" had been
found for quite some time.  I would think that every source is
monitoring each other.  It's not like something that needs to be
double-sourced!  The audio-only feed from Byron Pitts revealed lots
of cheers, applause.  Great news.

Pitt's follow-up report that just aired at 12:35 ended with an
emotional Pitts and an overcome Dan Rather (couldn't speak) when the
reporter related what he saw:  The rescued firefighter who was able
to stand, started to walk and then walked over to a tractor trailer
and leaned against it for a moment.  Pitts reminded us of the deeper
significance - that trailer was a refrigerated unit being filled with
bodies and human matter.
