I suspect the hardest part now would be getting a license. Even if in the
proposed market a channel was available, the short-sighted auctioneers of the
public spectrum would make it difficult to obtain. The little guy gets shut
off before he can even get started.
I would love to see a an independent revolution though. I get a big kick from
hearing about what J.J. Jeffrey is up to. Though he made it possible by
playing the big radio game, he seems to have the commitment to local radio. He
had his fingers right into it, even during the biggest corporate years. I
think it would take someone like him to start a large scale "reinvention".
