Wakefield shooting tops news, talk

This would normally be a very slow news day, but the
tragedy at Edgewater Technologies in Wakefield has
shocked the nation (employee Michael McDermott is
in custody and will be charged with seven counts of
murder). Local Boston TV and radio stations
have offered coverage, and on the Internet, national
sites have links to the story via Chs. 4, 5, and 7,
etc. Also the story is quickly the major point of
discussion on talk stations.

This is reminiscent of what happened just a few
years ago on the day before New Years' Eve when
John Salvi killed two abortion clinic workers in
Boston and was caught the next day in Virginia.

A truly sad story, and surely many will depend
on local TV and radio for details and talk about it.
