RIP Jay O'Neal

A friend tells me Jay O'Neal, news director and Morning Edition host at
WITF-FM (89.5 Harrisburg PA), has died.  His body was found at home
after he didn't show up for his morning shift.  This news hasn't shown
up on WITF's web site, where you can still see a picture and bio of him
at <http://www.witf.org/fmstaff.html>.

Public radio listeners in New Hampshire will remember Jay--NHPR hired
him to be the local Morning Edition host in 1996 and he stayed in that
position until sometime last year.  Except for a couple months when
Patricia Murphy did the shift prior to leaving for Seattle's KUOW, the
ME slot at NHPR has had nothing but fill-in hosts since Jay's departure.
