That is a staggering amount when you consider how much Imes paid for the
station some 20 years ago when they bought it from United Broadcasting. I
don't remember the exact amount but I recall people were amazed that anyone
would buy the dump.

Give Imes credit, they reinvented that station and made it a major player in
New Hampshire. It sure beats the "good old days" when WMUR announced Richard
Nixon the new president (1968) at 1 AM and signed off because the station GM
didn t want to pay overtime. Luckily the station guessed right, but what was
really sad was the station was getting the state numbers by watching Channel
11.
