Have you tried cart machine head cleaner?  I used to find that TF spray was 
good for everything.

Side note:  We used to distribute TF spray to theatres and VCR repair 
houses as well as some other electronics related businesses.  When we got a 
shipment of the new environmentally friendly crap (and it was crap) I 
shipped a case of it to a place that fixes cell phones.  Apparently they 
used to use the TF spray as a final wipe to clean fingerprints off of the 
cases before they shipped the phones back to customers.  They tried this 
with the new "friendly" stuff.  It dissolved the phone.

BTW - If anyone is in need of belts, pinch rollers, etc for old tape decks, 
turntables, cart machines, etc, I have lots of old inventory. (This is not 
meant to be a commercial, more of a service to the group.
