No, I don't remember that. My first recollection of that station
(now WQUN at what since last month is Quinnipiac UNIVERSITY) from when I
showed up in Conn., circa 1980, is that it was WOMN, with an all-women
format, which, IIRC, meant all female hosts / all female performers on the
music. I think the earlier calls, among others, were WDEE, maybe.

Unless I get authoritatively corrected, I'm sticking with my
version of Big D. I remember an anniversary thing they did in 1998 for 40
years of WDRC (AM) going top 40 on which they played some old airchecks and
I thought the Big D thing was from way back. I first heard the station when
I went to Amherst in 1970 and I'd bet one of my roommate's old bongs
(whatever that is) that they said "Big D" back then.

No sorry needed. Actually, I didn't see the post. I'm so bummed out
at not being there that I've been grumpily deleting all the happy notes
this morning about how great it was without reading them. The real reason
I, married to a non-gun owner, couldn't make it is that I was in Scituate
virtually all of last week and will be there again next weekend and
absolutely had to be down here for awhile to TKOB. Another time.
