In recent years, WCRB has been airing the synchronized music which is 
produced at the Esplanade. Before 1998 (IIRC), they aired classical music 
which I presume the station's management felt was appropriate to be aired 
with the fireworks. Personally, I prefer the approach WCRB uses now, along 
with the occasional cut-ins from Dave McNeil (?).
