Realistically, how long did anyone really expect that to last? Talk
programming is expensive to produce, and judging by their spot load the
station must be a pretty heavy drain on the paper's revenue. Offhand, I
can't think of a single talk station in a market that size (pretty much
restricted to Nashua and points east...their signal is not that great in
Manchester) that's live more than a few hours a day. Even WGIR, with the
deep pockets of AMFM behind it isn't live more than a few hours a day. How
can a station with almost no revenue, very few listeners, and not much
heritage succeed under those circumstances? Gotta give them a B+ for
effort, but it was an uphill battle right from the start.
