Interesting Reception Reports
Last night(Friday,4/7) while waiting for someone to come out of work in
Marlboro MA between 8:50 & 9:10 PM, I was scanning up & down the AM "dial"
if you will, and made some interesting station catches.Thought I'd share
them with the list.
At 530,I was getting a TIS from Foxboro MA that was relaying the National
Weather Service's Worcester forecast TX that operates on 162.55MHZ.The part
of the loop that cut in every so often to ID was somewhat muffled,so I
couldn't get the calls.
740 WJIB Cambridge MA was come in very well for it's 5 watts night power.
800 WCCM Lawrence MA was coming in very well, one of the Canadian stations
was barely audible underneath them,so I couldn't pick out which one it was.
980 WCAP Lowell MA was also coming quite well, overpowering WTRY in fact.
1000 WCMX Leominster MA was coming in strong,I know they are a daytimer
w/PSSA.
1280 WEIM Fitchburg MA was coming in quite well also, dominant on the
freq.They are 1KW nights.
1400 WLLH Lowell/Lawrence MA was audible, along with what may have been WABY
Albany NY equally as strong.
1490 WMRC Milford MA was audible, along with another music station equally
as strong, didn't get any calls on that station.
1590 WSMN Nashua NH was coming in decently,I don't think they are heard
down that way usually.
Coming home about 1AM,whatever conditions existed earlier must have
passed, other than the stations that were known to be off the air at that
time (WCAP,WCMX) none were heard in the Marlboro area.
