The question was raised as to what Montreal's CINF 690 does overnight,
considering that its sister, CINW 940, is running taped newscasts.

CINF 690 simulcasts the audio from TVA Network's all-news cable channel,
LCN...and at least are up-front in saying that is what they are
doing....unlike CINW which wants the impression to be received that they
are live 24/7.

Of course, all-news cable channels often tape their offerings in advance,
as well...an industry dirty secret that came to the forefront last month
with the Avery Haines incident at CTV NewsNet.
