They could probably fill most of the day with news/talk programming from NPR 
and other public radio services.  I know that has costs, but not the same as 
doing it locally.  I know Maine Public Radio is always trying to balance 
music and news/talk programming.  Two separate services make sense from a 
programming point of view.
