According to an article this week in the Salem Evening
News, Montserrat, an arts college located in Beverly
(two blocks from me) has formed a radio club and plans
to put a "pirate station" on starting in mid-February.
The station would offer talk shows, news, and music
ranging from rap to folk coffeehouses to classical.

The article said that the station could only broadcast
within a one-mile radius of their downtown location.
It said that the transmitter is being assembled,
some students will donate equipment; and anyone who
wishes to join, donate equipment, or offer advice
may contact Anders Hagman at 978-921-4242
extension 1206.

Maybe they're planning to start off with a
flea-powered
station instead of waiting for LPFM to come about.
