- Nationally: inasmuch as Larry King had predecessors on the Mutual all-night
- Regionally: a nod of respect to Bob Steele. (genuflection added)
these three are the ones who "did" and "lived" radio at a time when radio
truly meant something. with all due respect to "the zen-meister" Mr.
Karmazin and the others who have been the movers-n-shakers of radio for the
past ten to fifteen years or so (Rush, Imus, et al), the past ten or fifteen
years have seen radio become an investment quality business, and, sadly, not
much more.
