'RKO late night:Stephanie Miller

After weeks of guest hosts filling in for WRKO's
post-Tai late night shift (following Jay Severin's
resignation--he's now at Talk FM 96.9), it looks like they finally have
made a decision. 'RKO aired a rerun
of LA-based Stephanie Miller Monday night (they had her on for a
week-long tryout a few weeks back) and
last night she was on again, live, and announced
that WRKO was now going to carry her show. She
thanked 'RKO PD Al Mayer(sp?).

I think "Steph" may have originally been a stand-up
comedian; she starts up her show with a feature
called "Stand Up News" and does a lot of comedy stuff
as part of her talk (funny voices, ad parodies).
She sometimes will use a switch that will make her
voice very tinny-sounding, for use in "aside" comments
(when C-SPAN did live broadcasts of shows like hers
or Tom Leykis', I could see them use this switch).

So maybe that late night slot finally is filled,
after the likes of "Mike and Mo", Jimmy Myers, and
"Darlene and Lori" did fill ins...
