If you check the way the NAB abbreviates, they put WXXX-F or WBBB-A 
referring to an FM versus an AM.  And as Garrett  correctly notes, the late 
lamented WBZA hasn't been around since the early 60s.  (WBZ, as many of you 
know, used to be the call letters of the Springfield station and WBZA was 
for the Boston station.  The two calls were flipped in March of 1931, 
reflecting the growing importance of Boston and the  lessening importance 
of the Springfield market in terms of being able to get live talent or put 
on concerts for the Boston audience... when WBZ had first gone on the air 
in September of 1921, it used Springfield as its base because the 
Westinghouse factory was there.)
