The number of currents played per hour.

Also the style of music.  NAC is much more ecclectic and cutting edge...some
would say "hip"...   As opposed to older AC which relies on older, more
conservative, proven songs..i.e. Bread, Air supply, etc.

And of course the demographic appeal is different.
