Re: Civil?



I'm going to see "A Civil Action" tomorrow and I'll
check the credits to see if Howie is billed as playing
"Himself", "Jerry Williams", or "Talk Show Host", etc.

I was thinking of that today when the Globe mentioned
how Howie was "playing himself" interviewing the
lawyer, played by John Travolta. Hmm, "playing
himself"? Howie didn't have a show back in the mid-
80s... in fact, I think he didn't start (as least on
a regular basis, on Jerry's show) on WRKO until about
1988 or so.

Howie did do a column for the Herald about Jerry Williams a few months
ago, when Jerry had to stop
doing his show as Entercom took over WRKO (and
Jerry was still under contract as a CBS employee).
Howie did compliment Jerry in the column, and he
admitted that they might not be on the best of 
terms these days...
