It's sad that WQEW went away, but be thankful that the music lives on via
syndication. Considering the age of the music and the primary target demos,
I'm surprised that the format is still around in this corporate radio
enviornment.

Sorry, that's not going to happen. The FCC, in it's infinite wisdom allocated
a ton of Docket 80-90 FM CP's for Southeastern Connecticut and Eastern Long
Island. As a result, WNLC-FM has a first adjacent (WDRE-Westhampton, NY) on
98.5 that it has to protect. These stations can't be more than 30-40 miles
apart, with nothing but water separating them. If you drive along I-95 from
East Lyme out through Westbrook, NLC-FM and DRE splatter all over eachother.
It's a mess.
